How human hair Wigs are Made in Factory

Human hair wigs, a niche product, have formed an industry that can be traced back to the cultural history of Europe. European and American aristocrats, who loved sweets, suffered from severe hair loss and widespread dandruff due to excessive sugar intake. They paid special attention to their hairstyles, both men and women. British judges used unique hairstyles as symbols of their status and power. Gradually, hair extensions and wigs became popular among the aristocracy and spread to other social classes. Later, people of African descent in Europe and the United States, who had poor natural hair quality and slow hair growth unsuitable for styling, gained political and economic status and also developed a love for beauty.

Europe and the United States are the largest consumer markets for human hair wigs. The more formal wig industry first appeared in Germany. With the shift of industry, the production of wig products moved to South Korea, Japan, and then to China. Currently, China is the world’s largest and most important producer and exporter of human hair extensions and wigs. The wig production process and raw material technology have also improved with the changing times and the development of science and technology, becoming more perfect and comfortable. There are many styles that can meet the needs of wig wearers.

Influenced by celebrities, wearing human hair wigs is gradually becoming a fashion trend. Many women choose wigs because they allow for unpredictable changes in hairstyle - long or short, curly or straight. The simulation effect of modern wigs is very realistic, which is amazing. Going to the hairdresser to spend hours styling hair is more cruel for me, and the chemicals used in dyeing and perming hair are extremely harmful to the human body. Choosing a wig allows you to change your image at any time in just a few minutes without any harm to the body, bringing an extraordinary sense of freshness and excitement.

Nowadays, more and more people of all ages, from teenagers to the elderly, are coming into contact with wigs. However, very few people really understand how wigs are produced. Today, let me share with you the production process of wigs.

1. Material Cutting:

Wigs are made from hair, which can be either human hair or synthetic fiber. Human hair is the most expensive but provides the best results. Synthetic fibers come in many varieties, including domestic, Korean, and Japanese silk. These differ in gloss, feel, elasticity, thickness, and durability, and their prices vary accordingly. The first step of making a wig is Material Cutting, where long hair is cut into the lengths needed for the wig, such as 4 inches, 6 inches, 8 inches, up to 40 inches. A wig requires different lengths of hair to look natural and realistic.

2. Running the piece:

The hair is weighed, spread flat, arranged, and sewn into a large piece using a sewing machine. This makes it easier to handle in the next pre-treatment process.

3. pre-treatment:

Human hair comes from different people and may have dust, dirt, oil, and other debris on its surface. It also has tiny scales that run in one direction. Hair feels smooth and soft when touched in the direction of the scales, but rough and hard to manage when touched against them. During pre-treatment, the hair is soaked in acid, neutralized, and maintained. This removes impurities and scales, making the hair smooth and soft to touch in any direction.

4. dismantle the piece:

This is the reverse of Running the Piece. As the name suggests, the sewn hair piece is dismantled.

5. Pulling Hair:

The hair is even at both ends when it comes out of the material. During the Pulling Hair process, a hair puller places a large amount of hair on an iron comb and repeatedly lifts and pulls it to mix the hair into the required lengths and natural amplitude. If the wig is a mix of colors, this process also ensures the colors are evenly mixed. For example, a natural dark brown color can be achieved by mixing color #2 and color #33 hair.

6. Weighing and Partitioning:

Each wig is designed with a specified weight, too heavy to appear too thick and unnatural, too light to appear too thin to easily reveal the bottom of the hairnet network of the wig. And each hair in order to highlight the sense of hierarchy, are made of different lengths (gears) of hair. This requires workers to follow the drawings to weigh out each file of hair material, its weight is accurate or not directly affect the following production process, so this process is very important.

7. Hand-Tied Ventilation:

Hair of the right weight is matched with a lace net cap (a skin-colored mesh product with many small holes). Through the Hand-Tied process, a special crochet hook is used to evenly wrap and knot a certain number of hairs in the mesh holes of the net cap, aiming to achieve the most realistic distribution of natural hair. Hand crochet is a purely handmade process that is difficult and time-consuming. The area of hand crochet is calculated in square inches, with larger areas taking more time and costing more. A pure Hand-Tied crocheted wig is comfortable, breathable, and highly realistic. The lace part can be styled in everyday wear, making full lace Hand-Tied wig products more suitable for high-end consumers. The Hand-Tied part is also known as a lace accessory or hair piece.

8. Wefting:

Hair wefts and hand-tied components are carefully sewn onto the wig cap using specialized machines, ensuring precision and quality. The machine used to make hair wefts is called a triplex machine, which is typically made by converting three sewing machines. The triplex machine has three heads and a glue box. The measured hair is arranged into a hair curtain through the row of hair machine, and finally, a layer of special wig glue is rolled onto the hair curtain through the glue wheel, making the hair curtain very strong and preventing the wig from shedding hair. The hair weft produced is very long, which can affect the next styling process, so the cut curtain process cuts the long hair weft into standard lengths for the next process.

9. Simulation scalp:

The simulated scalp, also known as fake skin, closely resembles human skin in color and texture. High-quality wigs are attached to the scalp, giving the wig a more natural and realistic visual effect. However, special fluffy models of wigs do not use the scalp.

10. Wig Construction:

From this step onwards, you can see the finished human hair wig. The shaped hair weft and good Hand-Tied hair piece accessories are sewn onto the wig net cap. This process is quite important and requires a high needle machine. Sewing needs to be done completely according to the design of the sewing diagram. At the same time, high-quality wigs require highly skilled technicians for the operation of this process.

11. Styling:

After cleaning and treating the hair, it can be styled. The styling tools required vary according to the style of the wig. Generally, aluminum tubes, plastic tubes, sticks, and other tools of different thicknesses are used to create curls of different sizes and curvatures.

12. Drying and Setting:

The reason why the curvature of the wig is not easy to deform is due to this process. Styling involves placing the styled wig into a high-temperature oven and adjusting the temperature suitable for hair styling. The time needed to set the shape varies with the degree of curl, but generally, it takes between 50-120 minutes.

13. Finishing Touches:

After drying, the wig is finally trimmed, straightened or curled for a second time, blow-dried, packaged into the final product, and ready for shipment.

The process of making a human hair wig is complex. It includes multiple steps, from material cutting to packaging. Each step is crucial to ensure that the final product meets the highest quality standards. We hope the above instructions have given you a clearer understanding of the wig making process.
